Remember To Review Your Statements
We encourage you to review your periodic statements. You must notify the credit union that an error has occurred within 60 days of receiving a statement. The notice may be written or oral; however, we, as the credit union, may require you to provide written confirmation of an error within 10 business days of an oral notice. If you make a timely request for documentation or need further clarifications to determine whether or not an error has occurred,
then your notice will be considered timely if received by West Michigan Credit Union no later than 60 days after the requested information has been sent.
If you fail to notify the credit union within the 60 days of receiving the statement with the first unauthorized transfer, you may be liable for any transfers occurring after the close of the 60 days and before the notice is given to West Michigan Credit Union. §1005.11(b)
Quarterly Insurance Update
July marks the one year anniversary of the Auto Insurance Reform in Michigan. Many changes came along with that including better auto insurance pricing! Along with the 2020 Reform, drivers were also given the ability to opt out of buying personal injury protection (PIP) as part of their auto insurance, if their health plan covers auto injuries. This means that motorists in Michigan can now select the amount of medical coverage they want when purchasing their auto insurance policy. Historically, all drivers were required to carry unlimited PIP medical coverage for auto accident injuries. This law is positioned as financial relief for Michigan drivers, who pay some of the highest insurance rates in the nation.
If you have not reviewed your car insurance in the past year, now is the time! Melissa with Liberty Mutual is offering to review your coverage and figure out your coverage needs and how you can save additional money. Don’t forget, as a West Michigan Credit Union member, you get extra discounts!
Member Notice: Denial of Services
As a financial cooperative, it is the responsibility of all the members to abide by the terms of membership and any other agreements they enter into with the Credit Union. When a member causes a loss to the Credit Union, that loss must be shared by the entire membership. Losses have a negative impact on the overall fitness of the Credit Union and impact its ability to provide products and services to the members that do abide by their obligations. It is also imperative for the safety and wellbeing of Credit Union employees, volunteers, and members, that they are able to work and perform transactions in a businesslike environment, free from inappropriate conduct. Members who harass or intimidate employees, volunteers, or other members, or otherwise interfere with the business of the Credit Union will not be tolerated. Therefore, it shall be the policy of West Michigan Credit Union to deny services or terminate the membership of any member who has caused the Credit Union a loss, committed fraud, or has engaged in any misdeed upon the premises. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Working together as the most trusted resource to help our members' financial lives be simply better.
